Biography

Throughout my life I have been involved in art creation, working in various media, including oil, pen and ink, watercolor, acrylics, and fiber arts. I now work with encaustic. I have a minor in art from North Central College, Naperville, IL, studying under Diane Duvigneaud, a Chicago painter. Since 2015, I take encaustic courses at the New Art Center in Newton, MA. Encaustic faculty have included Anne Kneller, Suzanne Lubeck, Catherine Weber, and currently, Debra Claffey. I am a member of the International Encaustic Artists and Women’s Caucus for Art/MA Chapter.

My encaustic work has been accepted at the New Art Center in “Creative Process” 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021 shows. In 2016, I exhibited with a group of five encaustic artists at the Woodruff Gallery, Mashpee MA. “Cobblestones”, based on photographs taken at a French winery, was selected for the juried International Encaustic Artists show “In Flawed Abundance”, 2017.  “Prehistory”, an encaustic collage, was accepted by Women’s Caucus for Art show, 2018, Galatea Fine Art, Boston MA.  ARCK (Art Collaborative Resource for Kids) juror, Christine O’Donnell, accepted “Refugees – Biking to Storskog”, an encaustic collage, for “Miles of Murals “Walls That Speak” Gallery Showing” on May 4, 2019, Boston MA.  In August 2019, five works were accepted by the Woodruff Gallery for “Aging Gracefully”.
